The Journey in Owning The Islands

“Don’t give up on the things that you want.”

Bold and true, the Pirates is the first Philippine representative to take home the championship in the international SEA tournament hosted by Singtel.

Team Captain Jude Angelo "Bardaje" first met his team in ranked games. Diverse and courageous, the team is composed of one SHS student and undergraduates from medical technology, tourism, and maritime studies. From there, they were scouted by Mardy "∆•TOXIC•∆" Orillano Jr. to join AcadArena's National Campus Open for MLBB powered by Globe Telecom.

This was the team's first-ever tournament.

The maritime student said “discipline is the key” in winning these tournaments--a value that's heavily required in their degree. And it showed.

The National Campus Open Season 3 Champions were unstoppable during the PVP Semi Finals by defeating WELOVENUS of Singapore (2-0). Taking their momentum to an all-time high, their rampage continued in the PVP Grand Finals by taking the crown against an Indonesian team, ASH (2-1).

OLFU Pirates’ determination to win were evident during the Grand Finals of the National Campus Open Season 3’s MLBB against the former champions, FAITH Colleges Bravehearts.

The rookie dream team showed grace under pressure through and through both in the international and local stage. To represent the Philippines, they defeated FAITH Colleges Bravehearts in a decisive 4-0 sweep. FAITH Colleges Bravehearts won 1st runner-up last year in the PVP Regional Campus Championships.

Legendary Treasure

The ‘Campus Kings’ of Southeast Asia are hopeful that with their win, it could inspire more colleges and universities to support campus esports & gaming across the Philippines.

AcadArena’s Co-CEO, Ariane Lim, personally congratulated them, promising to help reach out to develop esports and gaming in their campus.

OLFU Pirates’ team is composed of team captain Jude Angelo Bardaje (Bardaje), manager Mardy Orillano Jr. (∆•TOXIC•∆), Ron Llanto (bHoxz_r0n15), Jhon Louis Inovero (M1dge), Daniel Enriquez (NIELLY THINGS), Shaian Klarc Carmona (Shaiii), and Brixter Timothy Gomez (Brix ain’t anxious).
