AcadArena, the home of campus esports and gaming, have relaunched their gaming scholarships under the AcadArena Scholarships & Aid (ASA). All categories are open to all student gamers from G11 to college.
After closing a P176million ($3.5million) seed round, the tech startup will now be funding scholarships as themselves, permanently. “True to our #NotJustPlay values, we want scholarships for gamers to be as normal and as frequent as joining a tournament,” Kevin Hoang, Co-CEO of AcadArena shares two years after announcing the first ever gaming scholarship of its kind for the country.
ASA will retain categories for leaders, athletes, women, families and now, senior high schoolers.
The relaunch is joined by brands like Rumble Royale, Twitch Student and MetaGoons who have their own listings for student creators whether in Facebook or in Twitch and student gamers in the metaverse, respectively.
The Goons Full Ride Scholarship is the first scholarship of its kind in the Philippines wherein accepted student gamers will get a full scholarship for an entire year in USDC.
USDC is a type of cryptocurrency called stablecoin. 1 USDC is always 1 USD. Student gamers just need to create and link their Ronin Wallet in order to receive the award if chosen.
AcadArena will also make the applications easier for students. Awarding cycles are now every 3 months with a monthly announcement of shortlisted applicants. This way students who submit early can decide if they want to improve their application or hope they’ll make it in the next shortlist.
Students will now only have to reapply in a new cycle instead of every month. The cycles are as follows: February 26 to May 26, May 27 to August 27, August 28 to November 28.
Students just need to create an AcadArena account in order to apply at the AcadArena scholarships marketplace. You don’t need to be a verified user to apply so just wait for that check mark as we manage the verification process.
